Every staff member gets one status for each day. Registers use short codes.

Unpaid leaveULOn unpaid leave
Half day + half leaveHPLWorked half the day and took half a day of leave
Weekly offWOA day off from the weekly-off pattern or the roster

Not markedNMNo punch and no mark yet
Half leave, other half not markedPL/NMHalf a day of approved leave, and no punch or mark yet for the other half
Not employedBefore the joining date or after the last working day

For unpaid leave or comp off the half-leave code is UL/NM or CO/NM. On the attendance pages the day reads, for example, Half leave (CL) · other half not marked; in a month calendar its tile is split between the leave and the unmarked half and reads PL.

Late is shown next to the status, with the minutes. Registers count late days as LT and mark each late day with a star.

Where the status comes from

X works out each day from, in order:

  1. a mark by a manager;
  2. approved leave;
  3. holidays and weekly offs;
  4. punches, compared with the person's shift and rule set.

A mark and approved leave never apply to the same day, so a day is never shown as worked while the leave balance is used for it. A day with approved leave cannot be marked until the leave is cancelled; cancelling paid leave gives the day back to the balance. For half a day of leave, enter the in and out times of the half worked instead: the day becomes Half day + half leave (HPL). In the same way, leave cannot be approved over a day marked by hand until the mark is removed.

A day with no punch stays Not marked unless your rule set marks past unmarked days absent.

How pay treats them

Present, paid leave, weekly offs (when paid), holidays, on duty and comp off are paid days. Absent and unpaid leave are loss of pay. A half day pays half. Half day + half leave is a full paid day: half a day worked and half a day of paid leave. The muster roll, the tiles on the Attendance and Home pages and a staff member's month all count it the same way: half in Present (P) and half in leave (PL). Not marked days count as loss of pay when payroll is set to count them as absent; otherwise the person is put on hold in the pay run until the days are marked. Half a day of leave with the other half not marked counts half in leave and half in Not marked: the leave half is paid as its leave type is, and the unmarked half is treated like any not-marked day. How many days a month has depends on the payable-days method. See Payable days methods.
