Add a fine to a day
Add a fine to a staff member's day for late coming, early exit or a long break, and see how fines from rule sets and by hand reach payroll.
On this page
Fines are deducted from salary in the pay run of that month. They can come from a rule set automatically, or you can add one by hand.
Add a fine by hand
- Go to Attendance and pick the day.
- Select More in the person's row and open Fine.
- Fill in what applies: Late (minutes), Early out (minutes) or Extra break (minutes).
- Enter the Fine amount (₹).
- Select Apply fine.
The day must be marked first. If it is not, the tab asks you to mark the attendance for the day before adding a fine.
The row then shows the fine, and the Fines tile counts it.
Fines from rule sets
A rule set can fine late entry, early exit and long breaks automatically, with a grace period and a number of free times each pay period. See Late, early and break rules.
In payroll
Fines appear on the payslip as deductions: Late fine, Early exit fine, Break overrun fine or Fine. If the total fines in a month go above the legal limit, payroll caps them and shows the warning "Fines capped at the legal limit".
