Add work sites for location checks
Add the office, factory or client sites where staff punch in, with coordinates and a radius, so X can check punch locations.
On this page
A work site is a place where staff mark attendance. A site with a centre point and a radius is a geofence: X can check whether a punch was made inside it.
Add a site
- Go to Settings → Work sites.
- Under Add site, enter the Site name.
- Choose the branch the site belongs to under Branches, and its Type: Office, Factory, Store, Client site or Other.
- Enter the Radius in metres, from 10 to 100000. Leave it empty if you do not want a geofence.
- Enter the Latitude and Longitude of the centre.
- Add the Address if you like, then select Add site.
Find the coordinates
There is no map in X. Two ways to get the coordinates:
- Stand at the site with your phone, open this page and select Use my current location. X fills in the latitude and longitude.
- Copy them from a map app on your phone and paste them in.
Enter the latitude, longitude and radius together, or leave all three empty.
Tip: Phone locations indoors can be off by 50 metres or more. A radius of 100 to 200 metres avoids refusing honest punches.
What happens next
A site alone does not check anything. Turn on the location check in an attendance rule set. See Check punch locations with a geofence.
To stop using a site, select Remove.
