Mark leave for a staff member
Record leave on behalf of a staff member for one day, half a day or a range of dates, for example when they call in sick.
Use this when a staff member tells you about their leave instead of applying themselves.
Mark leave
- Go to Leave and find Mark leave.
- Choose the Staff member and the Leave type.
- In Session, choose Full day, First half or Second half.
- Pick the From date, and the To date for more than one day.
- Add a Reason if you like.
- Select Mark leave.
You need the Approve leave permission. Leave you mark is recorded as approved and uses the staff member's balance.
For a single day
You can also mark leave from the daily attendance page: select More on the person's row, open Leave, choose the leave type and the Session, and select Save. See Mark attendance for a day.
If the person worked the other half of a half-day leave, enter the in and out times of that half on the attendance page: the day becomes Half day + half leave (HPL). Until the other half is marked, the day reads Half leave (CL) · other half not marked, and the muster roll shows PL/NM (UL/NM for unpaid leave, CO/NM for comp off).
Leave cannot be marked over a day already marked by hand on the attendance page. Select Remove manual marking for that day first.
