Apply for leave
For staff: check your leave balances, see how many days a request will use, send it for approval and cancel it if your plans change.
On this page
Open My leave.
Your balances
Each leave type shows your balance, with Used and Pending days. Pending days are in requests still waiting for approval.
Apply
- Under Apply for leave, choose the Leave type.
- In Session, choose Full day, First half or Second half.
- Pick the From date, and the To date for more than one day.
- Type a Reason.
- Select Check days. X shows how many days are counted, the balance after, and any weekly offs or holidays not counted.
- Select Send request.
You see "Leave request sent" with the number of days. Your manager decides it.
Warnings you may see
- Not enough balance for these days.
- This takes the balance below zero, which the policy allows.
- This leave type is not available during probation.
Your requests
My requests lists each request with its days and status: Waiting for approval, Approved, Rejected, Cancelled or Withdrawn. Select Cancel to cancel one you no longer need.
You cannot cancel approved leave that has already started: the page says "This leave has started. Ask your manager to cancel it." Leave in a month whose payroll is final cannot be cancelled at all.
Comp off and unpaid leave are always in the list of leave types.
