Create a custom role
Build a role from exactly the permissions a person needs, such as a supervisor who marks attendance but cannot see salaries.
Create a role
- Go to Roles.
- Under Create role, enter the Role name and a Description.
- Tick the permissions the role needs. They are grouped: Business and access, Staff, Attendance, Leave, Salary and payroll, Money, Reports and more.
- Select Save role.
Permissions marked Owner only cannot be given to another role.
You need the Create and edit roles permission.
Unless you are the owner, you can tick only permissions you hold yourself, and you cannot add anything to your own role. You can still rename a role, or take permissions out of it.
Example: a supervisor
| Tick | Leave out |
|---|---|
| View staff | View salaries |
| View attendance | View payroll |
| Mark and edit attendance | View bank, PAN and personal details |
| Approve attendance requests | |
| Edit the roster | |
| View leave and Approve leave |
Give the role to someone
Invite the person from Admins and members with this role, or change the Role of an existing member. See Invite admins and managers.
Change or delete a role
Select the role in Roles, change it and select Save role. To delete it, select Delete role. A role that still has members cannot be deleted: move its members to another role first.
The roles list shows how many members each role has and a short summary of its permissions.
